About Me
My journey thus far in life has provided me with experiences filling a variety of musical roles, including pianist, accompanist, instructor, and music therapist.
I completed undergraduate schooling at Concordia College of Moorhead, MN and graduate schooling at Florida State University of Tallahassee, FL. I hold a Bachelors Degree in Piano Performance and a Masters Degree in Music Therapy.
I most recently spent a year teaching as a full-time, temporary faculty member in the music department at Slippery Rock University, Pennsylvania. I taught private and group piano lessons as well as fundamental music courses.
In regards to piano instruction, I have experience teaching both children and adults. Overall, I have 10 years of teaching experience.
Additionally, I have previously accompanied choirs, as well as solo vocalists and instrumentalists. I have also served positions as both church pianist and organist.
I am a board-certified music therapist (MT-BC), and have provided music therapy services for a variety of populations, most extensively with adults and adolescents in the inpatient psychiatric setting. Most recently, I was employed as a music therapist within the Creative & Expressive Arts Therapies department at Western Psychiatric Institute & Clinic in Pittsburgh, PA.
